Alan Piombo stated in a news release. The arrest of Kunst, of Kunst Brothers Painting, was the result of a month-long investigation during which Kunst allegedly solicited an undercover detective to procure a young teenaged girl to have sex with for money, Piombo said.
On Tuesday, Piombo alleged, Kunst drove to the planned meeting at a local hotel so he could pay for sex with what he thought was a year-old girl. Detectives obtained search warrants for Kunst's Terra Linda home and his business in San Rafael, where they found suspected evidence that will be used for further analysis in the case.
Kunst was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of contact with a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense. Anyone with information that may be helpful in the case is encouraged to call the San Rafael Police Department at Callers may remain anonymous.
